What are green screen transitions good for?

Green screen transitions have three main usages:

  • If used properly, green screen transitions refresh the attention of audience (especially the very short ones). Consequently, many people will stay watching your videos for a longer time. In other words, green screen transitions will give you more complete watches of your videos.

  • If your videos are usually divided into parts, green screen transitions are a good way to make a transitions from one part of your video to another.

How can I get Green Screen Transitions Pro?

Go to the shop, filter the products by the platform you use (such as "for YouTube") and choose the resolution that you want. Then, put the chosen product to the cart and follow the payments steps.

What resolutions of green screen transitions do you provide?

We provide 9 different resolutions: 540p (960x540), 720p (1280x720), 1080p (1920x1080), 1440p (2560x1440), 2160p (3840x2160), 720x1280, 1080x1080, 1080x1350,  and 1080x1920.

If I get GST Pro, do I get all the resolutions?

No. Since most content creators are focused only on a single platform where they post their posts, it makes no sense to offer them a product that would cover all the largest platforms. The product would then be expensive and most of the product would not be used anyway.

What durations of green screen transitions do you provide?

We provide the 6 most useful durations for each transition. Namely, each transition is in 0.33, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00, 1.50, and 2.00 seconds duration.

If I get GST Pro, do I get all the durations?

Yes. For each of the 250+ transitions in GST Pro you will get the 6 most useful durations (0.33, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00, 1.50, and 2.00 seconds). This is why the product contains 1500+ files.

In what format is the product provided?

Green Screen Transitions Pro is provided as a single ZIP file. In order to be able to use the transitions in your videos, you need to unzip the file. If you don't know how to unzip the file, go here.

In what format are the transitions provided?

All the transitions are provided as MP4 files with 60 FPS (frames per second).

Does GST Pro contains transitions that cover only a part of the screen?

No. We decided not to create any transitions that would cover only a part of the screen. This is because these transitions would be used by a very small portion of people. In other words, most of the people would consider these transitions as useless. Maybe in the future we will make a separate product that will contain only a partial coverage of the screen.

Can I use GST Pro 2022 in 2023?

If you have payed for GST Pro 2022, you can use it as long as you want. Its use is not limited to year 2022. To prevent this misunderstanding in the future, we have changed the naming convention. So, instead of having GST 2023, we have GST 2. And it is number 2 because GST Pro 2022 was the first version of the product.

Each edition of GST Pro has an information whether it is suitable for YT, IG, TT, TW, FB, LI. Can I use the product in videos for other platforms?

Yes, you can. We have chosen six major platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and have verified whether each edition of GST Pro is suitable for the platforms. However, the list does not limit the use of GST Pro  just to these platforms. If you want to use GST Pro to make a video for another platform, such as Vimeo, Twitch, JetPack or any other platform, then unless it violates the terms of use, you can do it.

How do I achieve the green screen transition effect in my video editor?

We will show you how to make a green screen transition effect in ShotCut video editor. If you use a different video editor, the procedure may be a little bit different. Nevertheless, the basic principles are the same, no matter what video editor you use.

How do I achieve the green screen transition effect in ShotCut?

Here is the procedure for achieving the green screen transition in ShotCut video editor:

1. First, you have to have 2 video tracks. The top track must be the track that is played first and where we apply the transparency of the green screen transition effect, while the bottom track must be the track that is played second and that will be gradually revealed. The overlapping part of the tracks should be as long as the duration of the green screen transition you want to use:

2. Select the top track (i.e., select the track you want to be affected by the transparency of the green screen transition effect). Then, click to Filters tab and click the Plus sign to "Add a filter".

3. Type "Mask" to the search bar and choose "Mask: From File" filter.

4. Change File to "Custom..." and select the MP4 file of the green screen transition that you want to use in your video.

5. Change Threshold to 30%. The threshold is the value that determines what is in the green screen transition MP4 file considered to represent the transparency and what is considered to represent the non-transparency. The value 30% is sufficient for the green color we use (#169d4a) to be considered transparent and for the black color we use (#000000 or #000001) to be considered non-transparent.

6. Now, the green screen effect is fully set.

7. If you export the video, it will look like this:

How to use green screen transitions to increase the attention of the audience?

In order to effectively increase the attention of the audience with the help of a green screen transition, you need to present the transition as if it has almost never happened. To do that you need to satisfy two conditions:

  • You need to choose a green screen transition with a very short duration, ideally 0.33 seconds or 0.50 seconds.

  • You need to choose a green screen transition with relatively simple shapes.

If you use a long transition or a transition with fancy or complex shapes, then the attention of the audience will be dragged to the transition itself (and not to the video that follows after the transition). This is OK if you want to improve your videos aesthetically or divide your video into parts, but not if you want to increase the attention of the audience.

What duration of a green screen transition should I use in my videos?
  • If you want increase the attention of the audience, use a 0.33 seconds or a 0.50 seconds green screen transition.

  • If you want to improve your video aesthetically, use a 0.75 seconds green screen transition or a longer one.

  • If you want to divide your video into parts, use a 1.00 second green screen transition or a longer one.

Can I have a free example of a green screen transition?

Yes, you can.

Here is an example of a transition in three different resolutions:

If an edition of Green Screen Transition is out of stock, then it is never going back to the stock.

However, there are two possible solutions:

  • The first solution is to wait until we release the next version of Green Screen Transitions Pro. However, it may take up to a year. Moreover, many transitions in the current version will be different from those in the next version.

  • The second solution is to choose an edition that has the same aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16) as the edition you wanted. Your video editor should be able to handle that and properly zoom the MP4 file (please, verify that by yourself in advance). If you wanted 540p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 2160p edition (all have 16:9 ratio), or 720x1280 or 1080x1920 (both have 9:16 ratio) then check whether there is on the stock at least one edition that has the same aspect ratio as the edition you wanted (note that in the shop you can filter the editions by their aspect ratio). If there are multiple editions, choose an edition with a higher resolution (so you don't loose graphical details when your video editor zooms the MP4 file). For example, if you wanted 1080p and it is not on the stock anymore, choose 1440p or 2160p. This solution, of course, does not apply to 1080x1080 edition (1:1 ratio) and 1080x1350 edition (4:5 ratio), because these resolutions have a unique aspect ratio and there are no alternatives with the same aspect ratio on the stock.

What if I accidentally rewritten or lost a transition file? What shoud I do?

We have encouraged you to keep the ZIP file you downloaded after the purchase. So, we assume you still have it. In that case, the only thing you need to do is to unzip the product again to the same destination and choose to rewrite all the existing files.

I don't see some or even all the animations in the gallery. What should I do?

The problem is usually caused by the fact that you have unzipped the product files to a folder/directory that is too deep in the tree hierarchy of your disk. In other words, the paths to the animations are so long that your browser cannot see the animations.

The solution is to move the GST Pro folder/directory with all its content a little bit higher in the hierarchy of your disk, that is to make the paths shorter.
